Since 2011 Maria has been the principal of an independent design practice, focusing on exhibition graphics, illustration, editorial design, and branding for the cultural sector. Prior to running her own practice Maria was art director at 1000 Voltios in Bogotá, Colombia where she specialised in branding for the arts and cultural sector, and senior graphic designer at Freeman Ryan Design in Sydney. Maria started her career in Canberra where she worked in branding, marketing and editorial design. Some of her clients include: Australian Design Centre, Botanic Gardens of Sydney, Chau Chak Wing Museum, City of Sydney, House of the Arts (HOTA), National Portrait Gallery, National Museum of Australia and Penrith Regional Gallery.
